Produced from 1984 the Golf GTi Mk2 was a big improvement on the already superb Mk1. The body was stiffer and built to last being dipped in wax upon production and on the road the wider track and 4 wheel disc brakes helped handing and stopping. The car that we are offering is one of the best and is so good and original it is no surprise that Classic & Sportscar chose it as the example in their Golf GTi Mk2 buyers guide, the article can be found here https://www.classicandsportscar.com/features/buyers-guide-volkswagen-golf-gti-mk2 An ex concours winner, there are many, many trophies with the car along with the concours score sheets showing only a few marks being dropped over the years. Registered in August 1989 our Tornado Red 8V car has had just 3 previous owners (the last one for 11 years) and has still only covered 52,000 miles. A small bumper model, the original bill of sale is within the cars history file showing the rare factory options of Power Steering, Alloy Wheels x5, Tinted Glass, Electric Door Mirrors, Electric Windows, Central Locking and Headlamp Washers. Popularity of ‘80s hot hatches is stronger than ever and is the place to be in the classic market. Whether it be an Astra GTE, 205 GTi, XR3i or Golf GTi, if you get a good one the driving experience is very rewarding from them all but the Golf has by far the best build quality. Still looking fabulous inside and out and driving as well as it looks, this car is as original an example as you could hope for. To watch a video of the car please go to: https://youtu.be/Gh6QQffzthQ
