For immediate sale is this lovely 1978 MGB roadster finished in gloss black.
Unusually for a car of this age and value, the previous owner within the past 12 months instructed a local highly respected body specialist to carry out a top end body restoration which results in one of the nicest MGB’s available.
There is a file with hundreds of photographs showing how in depth and the quality of this restoration along with invoices to the tune of a jaw dropping dropping £19,883. Please visit our website to see the photo and video file of the finished item to understand just how good this car presents.
The gloss black paintwork is flawless with superb panel gaps. The original Rostyle wheels have been replaced with these striking Minilite design alloys, the soft top has been recently renewed and fits well. Inside the car you will notice the car is furnished with grey leather trim, a wooden dashboard and sports steering wheel. The history file with the car indicates the leather replaced the original orange striped seats in 1997 – a vast improvement in my opinion.
The aforementioned history file is very comprehensive with all restoration details present. Many photographs and documentation show the evolution of the car over the decades into the quality item offered today. There are old MOT certificates going back to 1993 when the car had covered 66,000 miles and a sales invoice dated the previous year for £7,500. There are two documented speedo changes, one in 1994 and another in 2016 – the total mileage is 98,000.
Underneath the car the bodywork has been completed to a standard as good as it is on top. The obvious repairs have been carried out to such a high standard they are not visible! - all areas have been rust proof treated for the future.
On the road the car behaves well with the overdrive working on 3rd and 4th gear as it should. The steering is precise and the brakes pull up well.
In summary, if you want a top quality MGB that’s very usable or to be proud enough to show, this may be the car for you. It’s offered at a fraction of the recent costs incurred so is tremendous value. We are happy to put it up on a ramp for any interested parties.
