Launched in 1996, the XK8 replaced the XJ-S. Two body styles were produced, a coupé and a convertible. The car was the first in the Jaguar line-up to use Jaguar's newly developed V8 engine. In 2000, the supercharged 4.0 XKR was added to the range producing a massive 370 BHP and a 0-60 time of 5.2 seconds. Larger wheels, a subtle rear spoiler, bonnet louvres and a wire mesh front grill were features of the more powerful car. From 2003, the engine size was increased to 4.2 ltr producing 400BHP and a top speed limited to 155mph.
A new range of XK’s were produced from 2006 to 2014 until discontinued without a replacement.
Our car, a late 2005 XKR 4.2 Coupe has covered just 33,000 miles from new and is arguably configured in the best combination of Midnight Black metallic with Ivory leather heated seats. The optional Recaro sports seats were ordered, as were the 20” BBS split rim alloy wheels, being a late facelift car it benefits from a more aggressive stance with the re designed bumpers and sill extensions.
With a car of this quality, as expected, the standard specification is plentiful including heated electric memory seats, climate control, adaptive cruise control, an Alpine sound system with CD changer in the boot - our car has a dark maple wood veneer to the dashboard, factory fitted telephone and Satellite Navigation.
Complete with the car is the service book with 8 main dealer and specialist stamps, every MOT certificate and the spare keys.
This is a beautiful car – one of the lowest mileage ones available and should not be missed! There is no evidence of any paintwork, it is immaculate inside and out and the wheels are in lovely condition.
