Launched in 1957 The Nuova 500 (New 500) had a 2 cylinder 479cc engine producing just 13 horsepower, the car featured a fabric roof and suicide doors. From 1960 onwards the engine size was increased to 499cc, from 1965 the suicide doors were replaced by front hinged ones. Various incarnations of the 500 were built until it was replaced by the 126 models which were produced from 1973.
Our car finished in Sage Green is an important early car. According to the Fiat Archivo Certificate, the car was built in 1959 in the Fiat Mirafiori plant in Turin and has the original 477cc engine only produced for the first 3 years. The suicide doors, the teardrop turn indicators on the wings and the vents on the front panel are all original.
Rarer still is the position of the steering wheel (right hand drive)
Fully registered in the UK with a V5 registration document and taxes paid (MOT exempt), this special little car requires minor re commissioning due to being part of a collection overseas
