The Citroen DS model was introduced in 1955 and was built in various configurations until 1975. Very technically advanced, it was the first mass produced car with disc brakes. The car also had hydropneumatic independent suspension and a self levelling system. Certainly a marmite car, you either love it or hate it, the car has been described as amongst the most beautiful car designs in the world and as also being 'Cool'.

Our DS, a 1971 D Super finished in white with original red cloth trim, is a one owner vehicle from new with just 48,000km (less than 29,000 miles) travelled.

It is fitted with the desirable 5 speed manual transmission and has power assisted steering. The car has had a time in storage due to the owner, Mme Regine, getting on in years and has been recommissioned and restored to the standard seen here. All body panels are original and there has been no welding - the floors are as new. All the oils and fluids have been changed and the car drives perfectly with the suspension working exactly as it should do. The tyres, due to aging, have been replaced with a new set of Michelin XAS's for confident cornering.

Under the bonnet is a delight for those sourcing originality with the chassis and engine plates all matching and everything is very clean and untouched.

With the car is the original French Title, service book and various documents all in the first owners name, registration in the UK is very simple with no taxes to pay. There are also original handbooks, unused insurance certificates and the unused spare keys still present.

Overall a beautiful 45 year old, one owner low mileage example that is ready to be enjoyed without any fuss.
