Flashback to 1986 when BMW launched the first M3 based on the E30 3 series body. The car was so far removed from the standard E30 that the only body parts shared were the bonnet, roof and door panels. A high powered (195PS) engine mated to a 5 speed Getrag transmission propelled the car to almost 150mph, the suspension and brakes were also uprated for this flying machine. Since then the M3 evolved with the times through E36, E46, E90/92/93 and the current F80 model, available in 4 door saloon version only.
The car we are delighted to offer is a 2003 E46 2 door Cabriolet fitted with the more popular 6 speed manual gearbox. The E46 models were introduced for the 2001 model year in just Coupe and Cabriolet versions with either the 6 speed manual Getrag transmission or the SMG semi automatic transmission. Power was now 338BHP and top speed was electronically limited to 155mph.
Our car is the 2003 facelift model with the LED rear lights. 58,143 have been covered and there have been just four previous keepers. The paintwork is gleaming Carbon Black metallic which contrasts beautifully with the Red Dakota leather trim. The car has a black electrically operated soft top which is in perfect condition and for winter use there is a removable hardtop with heated rear window. Other nice features of the car are the diamond cut 19" M Sport alloys fitted recently with a set of correct speed rated Continental tyres, the BMW Comms entertainment system with Sat Nav, telephone, trip computer and a TV. There is also Harman Kardon speakers, a CD auto changer in the boot and a front centre arm rest.
On the road the car sounds and go's as good as it looks. It accelerates hard through the 6 speed manual transmission and stops well in a straight line without any juddering.
The complete book pack, 3 keys, locking wheel nut, tools and puncture repair kit are all present with this low mileage car and we would suggest an early viewing as low mileage M3's with manual transmission as nice as this are few and far between.
